Liberty Street X Buhay Makulay

We are pleased to announce that we are collaborating with a great organization called Buhay Makulay for a batch of scholarship T-shirts that we will be launching in a couple of weeks!  For those of you that don’t know about Buhay Makulay, here is a little information about the organization:

The Buhay Makulay Children’s Project Inc. is a non-profit organization for children and youth at risk, based in Manila, Philippines. Through the activities of Buhay Makulay, Filipino youth and children at risk will one day be children of hope. We provide authentic outreach that provides spiritual resources and builds life skills.

The way the scholarship T-shirt will work is that we will be selling them for 1,000 Php, of which 500 Php will go directly to a scholarship fund at Buhay Makulay that will benefit our beneficiaries.  The picture below is a little sneak peak of the scholarship shirt we have collaborated on.

So our main focus with this blog is for it to feature only things related to Liberty Street, life in the Philippines, and whatever is related to the causes we support.  The reason for this is so that you the reader can have an inside look at the thought processes behind our designs by seeing what inspires us as well as our surroundings.  I personally love the behind the scenes sections on DVDs and we want to provide that same experience for the people who support us.

With that being said, if there is one thing there is not a lack of in Manila it would be places to eat.  I feel that a lot of things here are centered around coming together and eating.  This past weekend I ventured out with some homies to get some Mexican food at Hermanos and desserts from Xocolat.  Hermanos was as solid as it has ever been, I had the fish tacos as well as the shredded beef tacos (not pictured).  However, Xocolat was a new experience and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the chocolatey goodness that I consumed that night.  This experience has also brought to light how bad of a food blogger I am.  I forgot the names of the things that were consumed and most of my pictures are either of the food after it has been consumed or of my friends eating said food.  I promise I’ll do better next time.
